Buy or build?
If you have basic tools, building is usually the better value for a coop that lasts — and you control the size and quality. Small flat-pack coops sold online routinely overstate capacity; a good rule is to assume a coop holds about half the birds the listing claims. Start with our build essentials guide and size it with the calculator.
